Day #22 - The Time of Change

forum.xcitefun.net
The problem is that when I think I know what the calorie amounts are of the foods I eat, and I think I know how much energy I have expended, and because I think I know - I don't bother to check the actuality. That is exactly how I've come back to counting the days and blogging about my experience all over again.
Do I see this a s setback? Not really. Rather I see it as an opportunity to prove to myself once again that I can be in full control of my weight.
In light of that, I continuously ask the question, if I'm so darned smart how it is that I gained some the weight again? Well, in answer to that, let me ask you a question, did you read the first sentence to this blog?
Now we both have the answers we're looking for:-)

Day #27 - But What Is To Be Believed?

Just Another Day on Times Square
Yeah, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm afraid that I need to come to terms with the possibility that my scale has been displaying incorrectly all along, and the random numbers that show my weight as being much higher are the real numbers. Frankly, this idea is the nightmare of anyone working to lose the excess pounds, but if I don't look at it I will only be living in a deluded version of what I'm doing. The only reason to do that would be so that I could go along believing that I weigh less than I do.
I refuse!
As I've mentioned before, when the scales tells me that I'm light - I am! When it tells me that I'm heavy - then that's what I feel! I need accuracy!
What I really want is a scale that tells me the truth so that when I'm told I'm lighter - it's the absolute fact, no questions. What does this all mean? It means that yet again I am heading back to the store to trade in a semi-functioning scale for one that, as one of my online friends describes it, as simply consistent.

Real results are on the way:-)

Day #10 - Ah, the Wonder of Self Sabotage

I like to believe that I am a very honest person, and when it comes right down to it - I really am. The problem is, that while I work diligently to tell others the truth, I sometimes fall into the tendency to tell myself little white lies - so that I can have what I want. Well duh! Anybody relate to that one..?

Yes I'll admit it, an added minute or two tacked onto whatever exercise I get... avoiding noting down a calorie or two on things I eat.  I've done it, and I've done it recently, after which I wonder why the things that I know work for me - don't work!:-) See the pattern here?

As perfect as I am the way I am, I still have the desire to lose a few more pounds. Do I know how to make it happen? Of course I do! Do I sometimes stand in my own way? Uh yeah... I do.

Here, I have all the tools right at hand to do exactly what I want to do, but if I use those tools to bolster inaccurate numbers it's a lot like trying to hammer a nail with a screwdriver. I end up setting myself up to fail. Just great!

No, all is not lost, but let's face it what needs to happen is that I need to come clean with myself and move forward. That's exactly what I'm doing here. Nuff said?

Fast Diet Breakthrough? - NO! - - - ALL DIETS Are Crap!

I continue to wage a campaign of truth in the face of an overwhelming onslaught of advertizing. No matter what we do, no matter how stalwart we are... Even in the face of being accused of being hyper-vigilant - I really believe that the media darlings (read food advertisers) are consistently able to figure out ways to thwart our efforts at weight control. It's as though we were sending them an endless stream of information about ourselves that they can use against us any time they choose... It's as if they were able to see everything we search for on the internet and then fling back the results at us - by way of assaulting our emails and mailboxes with just what we were looking for only a day or so ago. Or like the supermarket kept a detailed record of each and every thing we ever bought there, and then made sure that they have those very things available for us the next time... And what could all that have to do with weight-loss? Ah nothing, nothing at all.  Nah, all that's all just ridiculous sci-fi paranoid crap. Forget I said anything.
