Fast Diet Breakthrough? - NO! - - - ALL DIETS Are Crap!

I continue to wage a campaign of truth in the face of an overwhelming onslaught of advertizing. No matter what we do, no matter how stalwart we are... Even in the face of being accused of being hyper-vigilant - I really believe that the media darlings (read food advertisers) are consistently able to figure out ways to thwart our efforts at weight control. It's as though we were sending them an endless stream of information about ourselves that they can use against us any time they choose... It's as if they were able to see everything we search for on the internet and then fling back the results at us - by way of assaulting our emails and mailboxes with just what we were looking for only a day or so ago. Or like the supermarket kept a detailed record of each and every thing we ever bought there, and then made sure that they have those very things available for us the next time... And what could all that have to do with weight-loss? Ah nothing, nothing at all.  Nah, all that's all just ridiculous sci-fi paranoid crap. Forget I said anything.

  1. Hi Jonathan,
I just read and enjoyed your book (paper version, I like paper). I'm on week 18 of my Weight Watchers program, and it's interesting to compare. While everything you say is true (OK, never say everything, I'm thinking that the beauty of WW is that there is so little calculation. No calorie counting, for example. They do have that system of points, which you have to figure in every day, but their system makes that figuring easy, so it's good for the lazy person. Also, foods that are good for you and that support burning fat best (like proteins and things high in fiber)are tweaked to be lower in points, lower than straight calorie counting would show. I know you don't like to pay and pay, but I would recommend you joining WW for a short time to see what they do. Yes, it's a slow process, but I think perhaps their 40 or so years of experience has made them make a system of healthy weight lost to be as easy as these things can be (which is not to say easy).

  2. First off thanks for taking the time to come by here and for buying my book. Secondly, I have no argument with WW, and as you know, actually do support their efforts. That the process is slow however is not the perspective that I take. As I have stated before - it took me years to become way over weight. If it took a year to lose it, that my friend, is not slow at all. No matter what way you chose to lose it I totally support that. We're in this together.
